Why Saiyam
What if together, we could stop addiction even before it begins? ‘Saiyam’ is our answer.

Adolescents today face increasing risks of substance use and digital addiction due to early exposure, social normalisation, peer influence, and unregulated digital environments. While awareness exists, schools and families often lack structured, age-appropriate, and trusted preventive education that can create lasting behaviour change.
Saiyam was created to address this gap by embedding addiction prevention within systems that young people already trust—schools, teachers, curriculum, and families. Rather than one-time awareness sessions, Saiyam focuses on early, repeated, and age-appropriate engagement that builds refusal skills, critical thinking, and healthy habits over time.
The initiative is teacher-led, curriculum-aligned, and supported by assessments, digital reinforcement, and research. This approach ensures continuity, credibility, and institutional ownership, making prevention a part of everyday education rather than an external intervention.
By combining school-based learning, parental engagement, digital platforms, and evidence-driven advocacy, Saiyam aims to create a sustainable ecosystem for prevention—enabling schools, families, and systems to work together towards an addiction-free generation.

Our Approach
The Pillars of Saiyam
We believe in creating lasting change through a multi-faceted approach that addresses addiction prevention from every angle.
Our Belief
We believe addiction prevention is most effective when young people are supported early and consistently, within environments they trust. When teachers, parents, and schools work together, prevention becomes part of everyday learning rather than a one-time intervention.
How We Build Trust
Saiyam is designed to be embedded within the education ecosystem, ensuring continuity, credibility, and relevance.
Delivered by trained teachers who students already trust
Integrated into regular school schedules, not added as an external activity
Reinforced through Digital Saiyam to support ongoing learning
Guided by research and evidence-based frameworks
Aligned with national education and child wellbeing policies

“Before this, I didn’t really know what causes addiction. I had some idea, but not complete knowledge. Through this course, I learned how people get addicted and how we can overcome it. I also learned about the harmful effects of alcohol, mobile usage, and tobacco. By the end, I clearly understood how to free ourselves from these addictions. Watching the different parts of this course helped me understand everything well. I learned many new things by studying this course, and I am thankful to V School for it.”
